One of its kind in Europe

The Ceiling depicts various Hindu images including a painting that pays respect to other faiths.

 

Babubhai Soni, a famous artist from Ahmedabad and his team (Naresh, Ravi and Paresh) were appointed to undertake the artwork. The task took over three years from start to finish.

1994

Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony

6th June 1994 foundation stone was laid by Krishna Shanker Shastriji (Dadaji) aided by Lalitaben Thakkar and the ceremony was conducted in the presence of various dignitaries including Keith Vaz MP, community leaders and devotees of Bapa.

1995

New Mandir Opening Celebrations

On 30th October 1995, the new Mandir was officially opened on the auspicious day of Jalaram Jayanti (Jalaram’s Birthday) the murtis were installed, Hari Shankar Shastri performed the ceremonial installation whilst Krishna Shanker Shastriji (Dadaji) performed the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the deities. Over 15,000 people visited the mandir and took darshan of the new murtis during the two day ceremony.

2006

First Milestone (Ram Katha)

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary celebrations of Shree Jalaram Mandir,

Leicester, the Jalaram Charitable Trust (UK) was graced with the opportunity to host Param Pujya Sant Shree Morari Bapu’s recital of the Ram Charit Maanas, (a poetic version of the Ramayana, scriptures depicting the story of Lord Ram) at Soar Valley Community College in Leicester from 15th - 23rd July 2006.

2016

Second Milestone

A Centre for the Community

It was with great pleasure and blessings of Shree Jalaram Bapa that we announced the official opening of Jalaram Community Centre (JCC) on Sunday 10th July 2016.

The Community Centre was officially opened by the City Mayor, Sir Peter Soulsby, and Deputy Mayor Councillor Manjula Sood, aided by members of the Jalaram Satsang Mandal and represented by Shardaben Joshi and Motiben Mashru who celebrated her 100th Birthday that year. Major Donor plaques were unveiled by Mrs Kalaben Raichura, the Thakkar Family and the Popat Family.

2018

Supporting Local Charities

The Jalaram Temple, Leicester, celebrated the 219th birthday of the Saint Jalaram Bapa (Jalaram Jayanti) on 15th November 2018. Amidst devotional singing and prayers attended by over 4,000 people during the day, Jalaram Temple announced that it would be supporting a number of local Charities through various projects.

Tree Planting Ceremony

To mark her Majesty The Queen's Platinum 

The Trustees of Jalaram Temple Leicester assisted by the Hanuman Savak Group, together with local

school children, community and business leaders gathered to take part in a special tree planting ceremony on Sunday 8th May 2022, as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
