The One Roof Winter Night Shelter was launched in 2016. 

The aim of the shelter is to provide a warm bed, a hot meal and a friendly welcome for guests who would otherwise be out on the streets during the cold winter months.

The shelter is a very open, welcoming environment where we treat the people who stay with us as our guests. We aim to create a homely atmosphere whereguests can relax and feel safe.

Jalaram Community has been involved in the winter night shelter since its launch in 2016. Every year the community centre is used as a weekly venue. Members of the community volunteer their time and expertise. They offer a wide range of support including setting up the beds, cook and serve the food and offer our guests conversation in a friendly

environment. Some stay overnight and others turn up first thing to serve breakfast and help clear up. 

In addition volunteers have organised barbers to come to the venue to cut hair and provide grooming for the guests. On Christmas they organise a Christmas dinner and give all the guests a gift, play games and ensure all the guests feel part of the Jalaram family.
